
GUIDELINES FOR ASSESSING PROJECTS FUNDED BY THE NATURE FOUNDATION SA Inc.
A Project or Scholarship Grant may be supported that:

concerns South Australian parks and conservation reserves, wildlife or the natural environment
-
is compatible with the aims and philosophy of the Nature Foundation SA Inc
-
has clear objectives and achievable outcomes
-
acknowledges the support of the Nature Foundation SA Inc in all printed material and public statements
-
could involve applied research
Applications for funding are reviewed by the Projects Committee using the guidelines above. The committee allocates the funds on the basis of:

the quality of the project
-
the abilities of the proponents
-
the relative importance of the outcomes (taking into account the aims of the Nature Foundation and information from appropriate technical experts)
-
value for money (this includes the potential of the project to attract funds from other sources: for example, sponsors or donors
-
funds available at that time, and
-
attractiveness of the project to potential sponsors
The Projects Committee will be responsible for making decisions within budget allocations determined by Council.
Applications for funds will be assessed half yearly, the first round of funding and closing date for applications is Friday, 15th February 2008. The second round closing date for applications is Friday, 18th July 2008.
The Nature Foundation SA Inc will ensure that a current file is maintained on every project. The progress of project work will be monitored and funding for large projects should be phased, with a progress report required prior to the release of further funds.
Projects funded by the Nature Foundation SA Inc will be acknowledged in the Annual Report of the Foundation. |
