Bequests
A bequest is your living legacy Many people who care about conserving our precious natural heritage like to make a contribution that will be of lasting benefit.
A bequest to Nature Foundation SA is a very practical way to do this. It can be satisfying to know that the work of protecting our native flora and fauna can continue with your help, beyond your lifetime.
A legal Will ensures that the assets you acquired during your lifetime will be distributed according to your wishes.
A bequest may be for a specific sum of money, a proportion of your estate, or you may identify specific items such as property, a piece of bushland, stocks and shares, jewellery or works of art.
After providing for family or friends, you may wish to consider making such a gift to the Foundation.
All you need to do is make a codicil (an addition) to your current Will, or you can prepare a new will if you so choose. You should seek professional advice about this and the Foundation would be happy to help you locate a solicitor if necessary.
The following wording is a guide to assist you in making a gift to the Foundation:
I give and bequeath: the sum of ($......) (……..% of my total estate) (or the residue of my estate) (….% of the residue of my estate) and/or (the following items of my property ……) to Nature Foundation SA Incorporated, for the general purposes of the Foundation, and I declare that the receipt from the proper officer at the time of payment to be a full and sufficient discharge thereof.
We would be delighted to recognise your contribution to South Australia’s environment and wildlife and can do so in an appropriate way, either in discussion with you, your legal representative or a designated member of your family. To help us in our forward planning, we would be most grateful if you could advise us if you have included the Foundation in your Will. All information will, of course, be held in strictest confidence. |
