Walk For Nature
Walk for Nature has been established to raise awareness, protect the natural environment, save native wildlife and enhance the parks and reserve system.
On October 16th 2011, Nature Foundation SA held the first Walk for Nature. Walk for Nature was approximately a 6km walk in which Walkers travelled from Bridgewater oval to Woodhouse Activity Centre along the Heysen trail. Walkers were encouraged to raise money for the event which was a fantastic success. We had over 400 enthusiastic walkers (and quite a few dogs) who enjoyed the scenery, exercise and most importantly showed their support for the protection and conservation of South Australia's unique natural environment. Thanks to the outstanding support we raised over $15,000 to increase awareness, protect the natural environment, save native wildlife and enhance the parks reserve system. Next year we aspire to raise even more money to help save, protect and restore South Australia's wildlife.
