Our most popular tour set off from the NFSA office with coach transport to a morning tea at Macrocarpa Wholefoods cafe in Mount Barker followed by a tour of the Laratinga Wetlands with special interest for birdwatchers. A fabulous lunch was served at K1 Winery Cellar Door in the Kuitpo region and a selection of their fine wines.

Some of the featured artists at the exhibition.Threatened Species Art Exhibition & Launch, 14-30 October 2009
Nature Foundation’s “Threatened Species” Exhibition featured works by eleven of South Australia’s leading wildlife artists with Wendy Jennings as its curator. The Burnside City Council Atrium provided a wonderful space in which to display these paintings and our volunteers from Friends for Nature were on hand to tell people more about the work of the NFSA. It is hoped to make this a biennial event.

Barbara Hardy Testimonial & Annual Dinner - 26 October 2009Barbara Hardy Testimonial & Annual Dinner - 26 October 2009
To recognize Barbara’s enormous contribution to our natural environment and to SA’s community life, we held a Testimonial Dinner in the magnificent Bonython Hall with 250 guests. We were very pleased that the Premier, The Hon Mike Rann MP and the Minister for the Environment, The Hon Jay Weatherill MP attended as well as Dick Smith, a personal friend of Barbara's. Ten corporate members provided some much appreciated support and three paintings were auctioned from the Threatened Species Art Exhibition.
