Wildlife Recovery Fund
Please give generously to help our wildlife recover from devastating bushfires in South Australia.
The Wildlife Recovery Fund was established following the devastating bushfires of 2019–20 and continues to direct your donations to people working hard to save critical native habitat as needed. While many community groups provide an immediate response to caring for injured wildlife, the Wildlife Recovery Fund takes a long-term strategic approach to re-establish native habitat and undertake priority recovery actions in South Australia, particularly for threatened and vulnerable species.
Almost $450,000 in community donations has been granted to 20 Wildlife Recovery Fund recipients so far.
Your donations will go to local landholders, farmers, and community groups in fire affected regions to assist natural regeneration through activities including feral animal and weed control, and fencing. This will give both threatened animal and plant life the best chance of recovery.
All donations $2 and over are tax-deductible.
We hope our donors understand that as a not-for-profit Nature Foundation values every donation. From February 2021 Nature Foundation will allocate up to 5% of donations towards the task of making sure sound planning, good science and local advice ensures funds raised are put to use quickly in the most important places and achieve the best possible outcomes. We will bring stories of hope back to you about how your donations have been spent and how life is returning to those fire ravaged areas.
The Wildlife Recovery Fund is managed by Nature Foundation and National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia.
