Three Nature Drives are available at Witchelina Nature Reserve, taking in the magnificent scenery of the reserve, some points of geological interest, and - if you're lucky - some wildlife.

Old Mt Nor’West Gorge Nature Drive Loops

Visitors can experience the stunning Willouran Ranges by driving the Old Mt Nor’West Gorge Nature Drive Loop, which is now accessible from both Farina Station and Marree. The Farina track is marked with red arrows, the Marree track with black arrows. Where the track is shared, it is marked with both red and black arrows.

From Farina

Distance: 105 km round trip (4 hours approx.)
Degree of difficulty: Dry – 3.0

From Marree

Distance: 120 km round trip (4 hours approx.)

Ridge Top Nature Drive

The Ridge Top drive offers visitors panoramic views of the northern areas of the reserve. It provides some fascinating insights into the geological and pastoral history of Witchelina, and will usually offer wildlife viewing opportunities. The track is marked with blue arrows.

Start/finish point: Witchelina homestead
Distance: 94 kms round trip (5-6 hours approx)
Degree of difficulty: When dry – easy, with 2 moderate sections

The Nature Drives are only suitable for 4WD vehicles with good ground clearance equipped for remote 4WD travelling. No unregistered vehicles allowed. A minimum fee of $500 will apply if you need to be recovered. Management reserves the right to alter the track, close sections of the track or deny entry to any person.
