2023 Artist Residency Program Exhibition
June 07, 2023

Nature Foundation’s Artist Residency Program enters its fifth year in 2023, and hosted an exhibition in June showcasing the work of the 2022 artists in residence, entitled Nature's Foundations 2.

The exhibition opening, held on Friday 2 June, was attended by passionate art and nature lovers, and opened by Nature Foundation Board Director, Bec Hardy, and the Hon Susan Close MP.

Checking on our tiny Emu-wrens

Watchalunga Nature Reserve provides critical habitat for key threatened species including the nationally endangered Mount Lofty Ranges Southern Emu-wren (Maluchurus stipiturus intermedius). This tiny bird, weighing in at only 7 grams, is rather secretive, flitting quietly between dense vegetation. They are very difficult to spot, which is why we engage an ornithologist with experience surveying this species.

Our popular Kids on Country Program reaches new heights
May 29, 2023

Nature Foundation is proud to announce that longer-term funding has been secured to maintain and expand our successful Kids on Country Junior Ranger Program.

The funding, from the National Indigenous Australia Agency, will allow us to continue to provide this program which engages young Aboriginal people in practical, on-Country activities, helping inspire them to pursue future study or careers in conservation and land management.
